Nyakallo Mahloko
Day at a the museum

I have vivid memories from my childhood, when I was part of carpool of pre-school children. Our carpool would drive past the military museum on a daily basis, and we would look outside the window with such fascination. We would were intrigued by the aircraft and war machines. Our young minds would dream of being militants and operating these monstrous machines...The joys being a child. On this particular day  we decided to explore the museum, a labyrinth awaited us inside, a reservoir of our province’s rich history. I cannot reveal everything my dear friends because I want you to take a trip to the museum and experience it yourselves. Take a look at our lovely photos and see what we got up to. To all photographers it’s a perfect location for a photo shoot if you prefer being outdoors. Welcome all join us on this journey as we paint this empty canvas...

My experience:

It has always been known and said that museums are least visited when it comes to social outings and they really arent considered as the best "field-trips". But moving back into time at the military museum had me marvelled at the history and ways of those in the past, ok we mostly had fun taking pictures and re-living the "war era" by acting out scenes of the Anglo boer, that later got us to realise how people have lost their imagination and perhaps places like museums can help you capture it once more. I left the museum feeling happy and educated. museums have become my new little adventure
